Koma Djembe

Koma Drum's djembes represent our strive for perfection, and our approach of quality over quantity. We work with only the most experienced and accomplished carvers, and choose shells of only the highest quality wood and workmanship. Our principal carver, Mohamed Kaleb Sylla, then spends one to two days finish-carving the body of each djembe, making them as close to perfect as possible.

  • Decorative carvings on djembes in the "Koma Djembe" line are occasionally  completed, in-part, with the assistance of Mohamed's apprentices, although under the direction and guidance of Mohamed. Mohamed also completes the finish-carving of all decorations himself, to clean up the lines of his apprentices, before he carves his signature "SYLLA MK" into the drum.
  • Custom carved shells and decorations available. Contact info@komadrum.com.
